ISRO added another feather to its illustrious cap with the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 rover on the moon's south pole. India not only entered the elite club of nations with a successful lunar mission but also emerged as the first nation to land on the south pole.

Lander Vikram which landed on the moon was captured by the Chandrayaan-3 rover. Lander captured the pictures of the moon and the visuals of minutes before landing on the surface. But now the lander was captured.

Having learned from the failure of Chandrayaan-2, ISRO took extra care of Chandrayaan-3 and added extra features to it. The rover was equipped with a Navigation Camera onboard the Rover (NavCam) which captured the lander on the moon's surface.

ISRO which is riding high on Chandrayaan-3's successful landing has been releasing regular updates and now the clicks of the lander captured by the Rover were released. The space agency dubbed the picture as the 'image of the mission'

"Pragyan Rover clicked an image of Vikram Lander this morning. The 'image of the mission' was taken by the Navigation Camera onboard the Rover (NavCam). NavCams for the Chandrayaan-3 Mission are developed by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS)," ISRO said.

Chandrayaan-3 was launched to explore the south pole of the moon and to see the elements that are present there. The spacecraft already detected Sulphur, aluminum, calcium, iron, chromium, titanium, manganese, silicon, and oxygen.
