Landslide In Wayanad: Death Count Increased Massively!
Now it is said that the number went past 100 as 107 people are said to have died so far.

As the rescue operation is progressing the number is increasing. Now it is said that the number went past 100 as 107 people are said to have died so far.
The impact of the calamity is such that hundreds of houses were destroyed and a few vehicles were also damaged. The Wayanad district which faced massive landslides is facing the heat of the impact.
The rescue operation is facing some issues due to the rainfall and the landslides. A red alert was given to a few regions as a safety measure and people were urged to not come out till the situation came under control.
As few others are believed to have been washed away in water the search is on for them. Relief Camps were set up in the affected areas to offer the required help. Helpline numbers were also provided so that people could reach out for help.
The government agencies joined hands for the rescue operation to carry the victims to safe places. Rainfall in some places created obstacles to the rescue operation.
Media reports say that the dead bodies were found floating in the Chaliyar river. Some bodies were carried for a few kilometers. A few locals reportedly found the bodies floating on the rover and they were shocked with the scenes.
Another shocking thing came to light which alleges that hundreds of plantation workers are feared missing. Workers who came to the state from other states for work are feared missing and there are around 600 workers. The search is underway to trace their whereabouts.
