The East Asian nation Japan has a long-standing connection with earthquakes. It often suffers from earthquakes. The geographical conditions play a big role in this. Experts say that the nation stands on the active seismic area which makes it vulnerable to earthquakes. Japan accounts for as much as 20 percent of global earthquakes every year.

As a deadly start to the new year, Japan was hit very hard by a flood of earthquakes. As many as 155 earthquakes have been recorded since Monday in the country and not less than 24 people were dead with this. The count might go up further if the rescue operations are finished.

The impact of these earthquakes is such that everything came to a standstill. CCTV footage captured the disaster and how it impacted the nations. There were cracks on the road and even the metro stations swung rapidly.

The Japan Meterological Agency (JMA) said that some of the earthquakes recorded a magnitude of 7.6. Due to cracks on the roads, the vehicles were struck and people ran in fear for their lives. It is also said that a few houses were damaged by this.

The rescue operations were called to bring the situation under control. The rescue personnel are running against the time to carry out the rescue operations and safely evacuate the victims trapped under the ruins.

Despite the rescue operations going on, the Japanese administration is said to have lifted all the Tsunami Warnings and the advisories that were issued in the wake of the earthquakes. However, people were advised to be cautious with the situation as there is a threat of possible earthquakes.

Experts say that Japan witnessed many earthquakes in the recent past but the new earthquakes are the deadliest ones since 2011. People were still in a big shock that they witnessed such a disastrous start to the New Year.
