The party leadership is making strategic moves in this regard. The in-charges of the constituencies are announced at regular intervals. A few lists have been announced already.
On the other hand, a few leaders are leaving the party at regular intervals. MLAs and MPs are resigning due to various reasons. Another MP joined the list and announced his resignation. The sitting MP announced the decision to step down at a press meet.
Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy gave a big shock by announcing the resignation. For some time it has been reported that the MP might leave the party. Making the reports true, the resignation was announced. However, he did not mention the reasons behind taking the call.
Keeping suspense on the reasons the MP said that due to inevitable reasons he decided to resign. He also said that he wants to field his son Raghava Reddy as the MP from the constituency.
On the occasion, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy highlighted the political legacy of the Magunta family in the Prakasam district. He said that the family has been in politics for over three decades and was elected to the houses 11 times.
As Magunta resigned as the MP and announced he wants to field his son as the MP from the seat a question was raised on what he would do next. So far there is no clarity on the candidates who would contest elections on the party tickets. It is known that Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is the regional coordinator for the Ongole parliamentary seat.
There is a big talk that the co-ordinators might have more chances of being the candidates in the respective seats as they work there. If this happens then Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy might be the candidate. In this scenario, the MP would face a big shock and might join other parties. This would be a big blow.
It has to be mentioned here that earlier Magunta Raghava Reddy was arrested and sent to jail in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. Later he was granted bail.
