The super popular and culturally significant Maha Kumbh Mela attracted crores of pilgrims this year, and this also included star celebrities who visited Prayagraj to take the dip in the Ganga river. The Maha Kumbh Mela happens once in 144 years and it coincidentally to align with this year - 2025.

In accordance with the sanctity and also the cultural significance enjoyed by the Maha Kumbh Mela, which happened this year, Uttar Pradesh, chief minister Yogi Adityanath put out an interesting tweet.

It is officially communicated by the Uttar Pradesh chief minister that a new world record in terms of attendance has been recorded for the Kumbh Mela this year.

The 'Maha Yagya' of humanity, the grand festival of faith, unity and equality, Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj, organized under the guidance of the respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, is moving towards its culmination today with the holy bath of Mahashivratri.

In the Maha Kumbh-2025, starting from 13 January, Paush Purnima, till today 26 February, Mahashivratri, in Prayagraj, in a total of 45 days, more than 66 crore 21 lakh devotees have received the holy benefit of bathing in the holy Triveni. This is unprecedented in world history - unforgettable. It is the result of the holy blessings of revered Akharas, saints, Mahamandaleshwars and religious gurus that this great gathering of harmony is becoming divine and grand and giving the message of unity to the entire world, the chief minister tweeted.

According to the statement given by the chief minister himself, 66 crore 21 lakh pilgrims partook in the Maha Kumbh Mela procession this year. This is a new world record in terms of attendance for a cultural event anywhere in the globe ever.
