2.3 Crore Litres Milk With Detergent Powder: Where Is India Going?

Generally, India is regarded to have better food standards and safety inspections, but this has been going down in the recent past as we have been hearing several cases of contaminations. Now there is a shocking report coming out from Maharashtra, and this is regarding the supply of synthetic milk.

Apparently, there is this one particular individual in Maharashtra, who applied more than 2.3 crore litres of milk, which happened to be a synthetic product.

Apparently, this individual used to mix water liquid with multiple chemicals and Nirma detergent powder in order to generate synthetic milk that he had supplied to several households for many years.

The shocking part is that the people who consumed this milk could not identify the difference between this synthetic product and real milk, which is the reason why he was able to supply for many years without getting caught. He was finally arrested by the authorities after suspicion came up regarding the quality of the product.

But the fact that the Indian safety inspection authorities could not identify a milk seller who sold more than 2.3 crore L of synthetic milk that was prepared from Nirma detention powder is shocking here.

We have been hearing multiple cases of contamination in the recent years and the most recent one came in Rajahmundry when contaminated milk killed more than 12 People. But it appears that even this horrifying incident could not inspire authorities to crack up inspection procedures.

India desperately needs a solid mechanism to counter these activities where people are able to freely sell, contaminated and synthetic products in the market. This is not an individual incident either, as we have been hearing cases of fabricated shampoos, toothpastes and other care products being contaminated and sold in the market.
