Manifestos Are Not Game Changers!

The parties believe that looking at the promises people would vote for them. This is the reason why the same amount of docs is put on the manifesto that goes into selecting the candidates.
Giving a final touch to the manifesto for the elections is very crucial for the parties. They prepare the manifesto highlighting what they would do for the people. The manifesto says what they will do if voted to power.
Earlier leaders used to think a lot before making promises. They not only followed the values but also about the possibilities of the promises. But everything has changed and no one remembers the promises after the elections. With this, the promises are beautifully packed for the voters.
However, there is a criticism that making promises without thinking will lead to a big financial burden. If one party sits silent then other parties won't do the same and they will target the others.
Considering this, we have to say that manifestos became tough compared to earlier. It has almost become a culture in which parties across the nation are making tall promises. They are changing the manifesto in a lot of ways after the elections.
They offer a certain scheme for everyone. Later they change their words and say only the White Card holders are eligible for this. There are many such things with the manifesto. We can see people who vote for the parties without even thinking about what is there in the manifesto thinking that they would get the schemes.
However, the opposition parties are not going easy when the parties make a flood of promises and put some conditions after coming to power. They are targeting the ruling party from day one. Looking at AP, YCP announced many premises five years back. Liquor ban and scrapping CPS were mentioned.
YCP failed to implement both promises. TDP cadre is forcing on this more. They are targeting YCP saying that it could not implement the promises. In Telangana, the Congress party came to power with six guarantees. A few of them were implemented already. The opposition BRS is putting pressure on Congress to implement all the promises.
In the 2014 polls, Narendra Modi’s party announced two crore jobs in the country. It's been ten years for the promise. But it was not implemented. People still say that Rs 15 lakhs were promised in bank accounts by unearthing the black money.
Looking at such examples we have to say that all the parties are the same and we cannot say that the manifestos cannot do wonders. Not only that there is also a big difference in what the parties say in their manifesto and what they do. But this acts as a good weapon for the opposition.
Many say that the manifestos became namesake ones. If Modi wins or Jagan wins or Chandrababu wins a lot of aspects play a role in this. But no one can assure the role the manifestos play in this. One thing needs to be highlighted here. Manifestos are not game changers and people take them lightly.
