Speaker Election: Mamata Banerjee To Shock INDIA Bloc?

The INDIA alliance might have not won the elections. But it is in a better position due to the slight difference between the seats won by both sides. The opposition side wants to challenge the NDA in the Speaker elections. The Congress party has a pick for their candidate.

Ahead of the Speaker election the INDIA alliance is said to have faced a big shock. It is said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reportedly decided to not extend support for this. She might not support the opposition side's candidate.

Congress fielded Kodikunnil Suresh as the candidate from the INDIA bloc. Her TMC reportedly wants to not support him as the party is unhappy with not consulting it before taking a big decision.

Not happy with this, TMC reportedly wants to stay away from this. At a time when the Congress and other INDIA alliance members are working on how to go forward with the election, TMC might shock the Congress. TMC has a good strength in the house and it can make any change.

Usually, the alliance parties will discuss before taking such a decision. But there is a strong criticism that Congress won't consult others in such matters. We have seen a few parties walking away from the alliance. The same is said to have happened this time too.

With Mamata Banerjee reportedly keeping her distance from the election and supporting the alliance candidate it could be a big shock to Congress. While this might work against the Congress the BJP might get an advantage with a drop in the strength of INDIA.
