In this context, Meta, which is the parent platform for leading platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram has come under the radar of the Indian government.

There are allegations of child content circulation on social media platforms that are run by Meta, including Facebook and Instagram. This came to discussion as Indian government reprimanded the company.

Now, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg apologised to Indian govt over CSAM deepfake content and admits money was paid to boost certain content

Mark Zuckerberg has apologised for the presence of child se*ual abuse material (CSAM), deepfake content and operational lapses on the company's platforms during recent engagements with the Indian government.

Meta also admitted that money was paid to boost certain types of content and expressed regret over the lapses.

High-level meeting between the representatives of the Indian government, and also this leading social media platform was held today and it was a consequential one.
