Media Houses Sensational Letter To Chief Justice Of India!

The Supreme Court is the top court in the country. The Chief Justice is the top judge in the country. The trend of eminent personalities writing to the CJI had picked up. Recently, we have seen how a letter was written to the CJI on the objectionable comments made by Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sanatana Dharma.

Yet again a letter reached the CJI. However this time for a different reason. As many as 15 media houses had written to the Chief Justice of India to seek protection against the attacks on the journalists in the country. The letter has a big significance.

It is known that raids were conducted at the houses of journalists and others who are associated with the news portal NewsClick. It is said that electronic devices were also seized. Phones, laptops, and others were seized after the raids. This became a big topic in the country and the portal is getting support from various corners.

Now the media houses had written to the CJI to intervene. They said that guidelines should be framed on central agencies questioning the journalists and taking electronic devices from them.

Raising concerns about what is happening, the media houses said that the central agencies are being misused and the journalists are being targeted.

It is said that the media houses also mentioned in the letter that the government does not like certain news the journalists are writing and with this such attacks are happening.

“It is, therefore, our collective view that the higher judiciary must now intervene to put an end to the increasingly repressive use of investigating agencies against the media,” the letter reportedly says.
