Global football icon Lionel Messi recently visited Vantara, India’s wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre in Jamnagar. The visit quickly became a major talking point across platforms.

The conservation centre, founded by Anant Ambani, welcomed the football star with traditional Indian rituals that reflect respect for nature and living beings. The visit began with prayers and ceremonial aarti by showing how Indian culture blends spirituality with modern conservation efforts. Messi was accompanied by his teammates from Inter Miami by making the moment even more special for football fans.

During the guided tour, Messi closely observed rescued animals such as lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, and rhinos living in carefully designed natural environments. At the Big Cat Care Centre, he calmly posed with a tiger, highlighting the trust and care involved in animal rehabilitation. He also visited the wildlife hospital and foster care units, where injured and orphaned animals receive advanced medical treatment.

One of the most heartwarming moments came at the Elephant Care Centre where Messi played football with a rescued elephant calf. This simple interaction showed how compassion and play can connect humans and animals beyond language.

Messi praised India’s dedication to wildlife protection and said the work being done at Vantara is inspiring and meaningful.
