Cabinet Shuffle: What Did Internal Survey Say?

The government of India had been contemplating a complete shuffle of the central cabinet for a long time now, but this is not being executed for multiple reasons.

First, it was said that the cabinet could be in the month of July itself, but Modi had multiple foreign visits in this month and was not able to concentrate on the actual selection procedure.

Now it is being established that the government has collectively decided to shuffle the cabinet as there are multiple political reasons leading to the same.

The extensive dependence on Narendra Modi image all across India has been a major concern for the BJP. It is reported that the party has understood that depending entirely on the image of Modi will not serve the right purpose for the entire party when the political fight could get more intense.

Subsequently, certain changes are going to be made to the central cabinet in order to reduce the public backlash and increase the efficiency of certain ministers. There is a consolidated update on this matter now.

The expectation is that the much-expected reshuffle of the 71-member Union Cabinet may happen either before September 26 or around Dasara. It is certain that the shift will be happening, but it is only about the timeline that is to be discussed now.

Three broad features will define the reshuffle, which include a new unexpected face to handle the finance portfolio, political diversity to enhance representation, and trimming of the multiple posts being handled by several ministers.

Apparently, an internal survey has also been conducted by the BJP to determine which of the ministers deserve to be kept in the cabinet while also determining who deserves to be sent out.

There could be a lot of shuffling as well with one minister, getting a different portfolio and the other getting another. This could be a constant feature of the upcoming cabinet that could be happening very soon.
