As we had reported yesterday, the prime minister of India Narendra Modi is reportedly avoiding the phone calls from United States president Donald Trump over the last few weeks.

This can be considered as a retaliatory effort from the Indian Prime Minister after the United States President imposed 50% tariff for India. While the situation is continuing to even more volatile every day, here is what Trump had to say on this matter.

I am talking to a very terrific man, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. I said what's going on with you and Pakistan. Then I am talking to Pakistan about trade. I said what's going on with you and India? The hatred was tremendous. This has been going on for a hell of a long time, like, sometimes with different names for hundreds of years, Trump said as he continued on his brigade about stopping the India and Pakistan war.

“I said, I don't want to make a trade deal with you. You guys are going to end up in a nuclear war...I said, call me back tomorrow, but we're not going to do any deals with you, or we're going to put tariffs on you that are so high, your head's going to spin. Within about five hours, it was done.

Now maybe it starts again. I don't know. I don't think so, but I'll stop it if it does. We can't let these things happen, Trump concluded as he gave the application that there is no truth in this speculation about Modi avoiding his calls.

While India is continuing to stand resolute on its oil trade with Russia, Trump appears to be on overdrive as he is doing everything in his power to pressurise India.
