The BJP often talks about the double-engine model which says that the party should be in power in the states and at the Centre for better coordination and growth. Having the Centre’s support is very important. As an example of this recently Revanth Reddy sought Narendra Modi’s support for the state.

Moreover, there is a talk that the BJP-ruled states get good preference from the Centre in terms of funds allocation and granting institutions. The previous BRS government alleged that the state was ignored for other states and no big institutions were allocated.

Repeating the 2014 scenes, BJP-TDP-Janasena joined hands and formed a grand alliance. The seat sharing was also completed. The first joint meeting for the three parties was held the other day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering. The call he gave to the people grabbed everyone’s attention.

Many expected that Modi would say the double-engine government would come to power and make Chandrababu Naidu the Chief Minister. But to everyone’s surprise, Narendra Modi did not mention the two topics. The observers say that the TDP cadres were not happy with this.

As TDP was allocated more seats, Chandrababu Naidu would become the Chief Minister given the advantage. If the alliance comes to power then we can call it a double-engine government.

But Narendra Modi did not mention the two aspects leaving everyone in surprise. This led to doubts about whether Modi has other plans or whether he has a soft corner for Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan.

A section of netizens says that BJP might have not forgotten what TDP and the leaders said in the past and this might be the reason behind Modi not talking about a double-engine government and making Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of the state.

However, a few others say that the alliance might have lost trust in winning the elections and hence that sort of comments did not come from the Prime Minister in the first meeting after the alliance was formed.

On the other hand, another version is also going rounds which says that Modi has a soft corner for Pawan Kalyan as he gave his best in setting the stage for the alliance. Many say that if not for Pawan Kalyan the alliance would have not been formed given the past events between TDP and BJP.

Earlier a few BJP leaders said that Pawan Kalyan would be the CM face if the party comes to power. Considering this there is an opinion that these factors might have led to Narendra Modi’s silence on crucial aspects.
