Why PM Modi’s Ukraine Visit Getting All The Attention?

All eyes were on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to a war-hit nation. The country has been going through a lot for some time with an attack from a super power nation. The country gathered support from other countries including the US in the wake of the attack.

Narendra Modi landed in Ukraine earlier today. This makes him the first Prime Minister of India to reach the country since 1991. It is known that earlier Narendra Modi visited Moscow which led to a lot of criticism.

When other countries pressured Russia to stop the war, India took a neutral stand and did not take a stand on this. This visit is seen as a bid to bring down the criticism over India being neutral on the issue.

Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in Ukraine. He was greeted with Namaste upon landing. It is known that Narendra Modi reached Kyiv from Poland. For this Narendra Modi opted for a train journey and boarded the Rail Force One Train.

As part of Ukraine's visit, Narendra Modi will meet Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the one-to-one meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss various issues including the war. India is expected to play a key role in settling things between Russia and Ukraine.

Narendra Modi and Putin share good ties. It would be no wonder if Putin would slow down in the war if Modi asks him to. So all eyes are on the Indian Prime Minister to see what he can do in the Ukraine visit. Let us wait and see.
