His comments on Virat Kohli's 49th ODI hundred did not go well with many and even the former players are not happy with this. He said that Virat Kohli's century was a selfish knock and took objection to Virat taking singles in the last overs. He said that Virat Kohli preferred a century and if not he would have gone for big shots.

However, a few former players blasted him for the comments and said that Virat Kohli's innings was crucial one on the tough surface.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan who is quite active on social media silenced Mohammad Hafeez on his comments on Virat Kohli. Taking a cheeky dig at the former Pakistan player, Michael Vaughan said it appears that Hafeez is after Virat Kohli as he took his wicket. He even shared a picture of Virat jumping into celebrations after taking his wicket.
