India is one of the most populous countries in the world and there naturally brings a lot of database into as several global applications fight hard to secure the Indian market. Now let us have a look at the most used mobile phone applications in India on a daily basis.
A recent report on the most used mobile apps in India shows that only two Indian apps are among the top daily used platforms. These two apps are PhonePe and JioHotstar.
PhonePe, a digital payments app, has around 167 million daily active users. JioHotstar, a video streaming platform, has about 94 million daily active users. Apart from these two, most of the top apps used in India are owned by global companies.
The most used app in India is WhatsApp Messenger with about 835 million daily users. It is followed by Google with 654 million users and YouTube with 639 million users. Google Chrome stands fourth with 571 million users. Instagram comes next with 396 million users.
Other highly used apps include Facebook with 262 million users, Truecaller with 256 million users, Google Messages with 254 million users, Gmail with 236 million users, and Snapchat with 169 million users.
In the next group, PhonePe ranks just after Snapchat. Other popular apps include Samsung One UI Home, Google Maps, Samsung Gallery, Telegram, Google Pay, ChatGPT, and WhatsApp Business.
This data clearly shows that while Indians use many apps daily, only two Indian developed apps are currently among the top most used platforms in the country.
