A major ferry accident occurred on Bachar Island off the coast of Mumbai. An unexpected tragedy struck during a cruise. 13 people died when a navy boat collided with a passenger boat. The crew rescued another 101 passengers.

The Indian Coast Guard immediately rushed to the scene and rescued a hundred people after the two boats collided and the passengers fell into the water.

The accident occurred at 3.55 pm on Wednesday when a navy boat collided with a passenger boat. As per the information received till now, 101 people were rescued while 13 others lost their lives. Among the deceased, 10 were civilians, and three were Navy personnel.

The boat 'Neelkamal' was carrying many tourists from the Gateway of India to the Elephanta Caves. In this process, the accident occurred when a small boat collided with a boat carrying tourists. With the Coast Guard's help and fishermen's help, immediate action was taken to avert a major loss of life.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said rescue operations are ongoing for the remaining missing.
