Meet Smallest Country In World With New Name!

One of the smallest countries in the world has gone for a change of its name, and it has become a major global news already considering the cultural impact of the same.

Going into the story, Nauru, a Pacific island nation, officially changes its name to the Republic of Naoero.

The President of the country David Adeang announced that the new name reflects the traditional spelling and pronunciation in the country's national language.

Along with the name change, the country's international code will be updated from NRU to NRO, while its citizens will now be known as dei-Naoero instead of Nauruans.

The government says the move is intended to honour the nation's heritage, language and identity, noting that "Nauru" was a name adapted for foreign use.

Home to around 12,000 people, Naoero is the world's third-smallest country. Now they have taken the pretty big decision of changing the name of the country and related communication was made by the highest ranking president as well.

Several leather countries have also changed their names in the recent past and multiple factors like independence from other countries or cultural significance are the main contributing factors for the same.
