Nepal Needs 47,000 Cr But How It’ll Happen?

Nepal is one of the natural gifted countries in the world. The kind of green reserves that Nepal has is beyond ordinary and the country is largely dependent on tourism and other activities for economy generation.

In this context, the recent floods that happened in Nepal have created absolute destruction as thousands of buildings and establishment have been wiped away.

Now it is being established that Nepal needs a significant amount of money to rebuild the country at a social level, and here is an interesting report on the same.

Nepal may need up to $5 billion to rebuild after catastrophic floods, with Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle calling the estimate preliminary as damage assessments continue. To put that into perspective this roughly converted around ₹47,000 crore in Indian rupees, which is a significant package.

The floods have reportedly killed over 600 people across Nepal and Tibet, damaged vital infrastructure and hydropower stations, and left thousands missing so far.

Accumulating such a massive amount of money for a small country like Nepal is going to be a pretty big challenge. Needless to say, generating ₹47,000 crore is tough for India as well at this point.

So we have to patiently wait and see if other countries would start to contribute to Nepal due to this natural disaster as several countries have extended condolences to Nepal already.
