New Visa Rules: UK Shocks The Care Workers!

Appointing care workers to take care of toddlers and elderly people is a popular concept in the West that has been going on for a long time. For this, people from other countries are taken into jobs, giving them a platform for employment. Care workers take their families there after settling in.

However, this will not be the scene from now on due to the new rules. The United Kingdom came up with new restrictions on this which say that the care workers cannot bring their families to the country.

It is a standard procedure that people who go to other countries will take their families as dependents. Irrespective of the visa holders they do the same. Care workers are not different as far as the trend is concerned. But the care workers faced a big jolt with the decision.

As per the new Visa rules that came into existence Care workers including Indians cannot bring dependent families to the countries. UK Home Secretary James Cleverly spoke about the new rules.

He said that the care workers are making valuable contributions with their work as they look after the people who are in need. Having highlighted their role the Home Secretary also gave a big reason behind taking the tough call.

The reason is that the British administration issued as many as one lakh visas for the care workers and more dependents than the workers landed in the country. With this, the Administration shifted its focus on to the issue and brought the new rules.

The government will table the rules under the new policy in the Parliament later this week. Not only that, the Care providers in the country who are sponsoring the care workers coming from other countries should enroll with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
