India Found a New Superstar In Nitish Reddy?

Team India has started off the opening test match of the Border Gavaska Trophy in a rather mixed manner. The first batting innings of India was very stagnated with the top order, including Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal al failing. Rahul was comparatively better but he fell for a poor umpiring decision.

Then there was a brief onslaught from Rishabh Pant who put up a brave face in the middle. This was followed by some serious hitting done by Nitish Kumar Reddy who ended the innings with a respectable score of 41. He took the side to 150 runs in the first innings.

More than the number of runs that Nitish scored, it is the composure that he showed in the middle that has called for discussions. He was very calculated with his shots, showed his panache and found the gaps with utter ease all through his innings.

Nitish appears to be the next big superstar for Indian cricket, at least as far as batting options go. He is a very compact player with exquisite game awareness and top tier finesse. The way he belted Cummins and Hazelwood is of elite quality, it could be said.

If Nitish can add more value to the side with his bowling prowess as well, then it could very well mean that India has found a new superstar all rounder in the form of Nitish. He looks like a solid find for the Indian team and the potential here is virtually endless. This is exactly what the struggling Indian middle order wanted.
