Nizamabad Urban MLA candidate commits suicide

The voters in Nizamabad Urban constituency were in for a shock when they came to know that one of the candidates in the current election committed suicide. More shockingly, he was honey-trapped by an online fraudster through a nude WhatsApp chat. Unable to pay up the fraudster, he ended his life. He was identified as Y Kanakaiah Goud (29).

Goud was contesting on the Alliance for Democratic Reforms ticket. The party has been rooting for democratic reforms and clean politics. Unfortunately for him, the online fraudster with whom the election candidate had a nude chat , began demanding huge amounts of money. The fraudster threatened him with leaking the pictures if he did not pay up.

Unable to bear it any longer, the candidate chose to end his life. He hanged self from the ceiling fan when the family members were away on some work. According to his affidavit, Kanakaiah Goud was a vegetable vendor and a social activist. His affidavit claims that he was involved in private service.

The police said that he candidate got a videocall from an online fraudster. Unsuspectingly, he would have replied to the video call. The fraudster may have captured his face and created a nude image using morphing techniques. This may have forced him to resort to the extreme step, they police said. Further investigations are on.
