How Much Money India Saves Through ONOE? Rs 7 Lakh Crore?
The idea is to be monotonous with the election campaign so that all the assembly and Parliament election elections across the country will be held at once.
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 May 2026 11:40 PM ISTIt is already known that the central government of India had been seriously contemplating the idea of imposing one single election campaign for the entire nation.
The idea is to be monotonous with the election campaign so that all the assembly and Parliament election elections across the country will be held at once.
This is a strong measure to remove any kind of irregularity in the electoral process and will also be reducing the financial burden of the election which happen all year round.
A Joint action committee has been constituted to assess on the financial and logistical aspect of the same and here is what they had to recommend on this matter.
The JPC has recommended that the proposal could save ₹7 lakh crore, boost GDP growth and reduce disruptions caused by frequent elections - a major step towards governance efficiency and policy stability.
This is a primary concern due to the fact that elections are happening around the year and they require a lot of financial allocations right from EVM management to the whole process from the day of election notification. If the elections are held at once across the country, these costs could be cut on massively.
