The President of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif has made a pretty significant public statement regarding the ballistic airstrike done by the Indian military. After having received the international media with false statements and fabricated social media posts, the Pakistani leadership has finally acknowledged the military grade movement of India.

Today, May 17, 2025, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that Indian ballistic missiles struck several locations inside Pakistan, including the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.

It must primarily be noted that this is the first time the Pakistani government officially admitted to such an attack. The missile strikes were part of India’s “Operation Sindoor,” carried out in response to a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan-based militants.

Indian forces reportedly hit 11 military installations across Pakistan, including bases in Sargodha and Skardu, aiming to target terror infrastructure. Pakistan condemned the strikes as an unprovoked act of aggression and warned of retaliation. The country’s National Security Council authorized the military to respond at a time and place of its choosing.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has already communicated that this ongoing operation is still active and it will be resumed once Pakistan starts provoking India again with their terrorism activities.
