But despite the large section of the population that has settled their not many Indian people know about the actual regulations that are in effect in the United States.
In this connection, we have the case of the OPT Visa, which has been one of the most discussed and debated prospects.
The OPT visa is functionally a temporary work permit program where a student who is currently on F1 Visa in the United States can find a job in the country before converting to H1B Visa.
However, the majority of the Indian population or not aware of the actual regulations of OPT visa, and they eventually end up getting their work permits messed up. A similar scenario has emerged in the case of an Indian student who has lost his student visa for not applying for OPT on time.
Apparently, the OPT Visa can be applied by the Indian population in the United States at any given point in time, even if they are self-employed in the United States. But the business must be a legal one, and the operations must be held accountable.
So it is not entirely necessary for a student to immediately find a job or employer within the United States to progress with their further visa application. They can even be self-employed at a legal level to apply for OPT and then go for a full work permit.
There are several Indian students who are unable to understand this logic and running after playing jobs, which have become extremely hard to find in the current market. Perhaps this new update on the OPT visa will be helpful for the concerned individuals.
