It is already known that several leading IT companies in the world including Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys and others have been laying off employees at a very alarming rate. Now we have another shocking report coming up, and this is regarding or Oracle.

Oracle is reportedly considering one of its largest workforce reductions in years, with plans to cut between 20,000 and 30,000 employees globally. If implemented, this would amount to nearly 10 percent of its total workforce.

While the company has not made an official announcement, the move is being linked to Oracle’s aggressive push into artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure.

The reported layoffs are largely seen as a cost saving measure to free up billions of dollars in cash flow. Oracle is investing heavily in building large scale AI ready data centers, which require massive capital.

A key part of this strategy is its long term cloud partnership with OpenAI, under which Oracle is expected to provide enormous computing capacity over several years. This deal, while strategically important, has significantly increased financial pressure.

Adding to the challenge, reports suggest that some banks are becoming cautious about funding AI data center projects, forcing Oracle to rely more on internal resources. To manage this, the company is also planning to raise around 45 to 50 billion dollars through debt and equity in the coming year.

Overall, Oracle appears to be reshaping its business by cutting costs, streamlining operations, and prioritizing AI and cloud growth, even if it comes at the cost of large scale job losses.
