Viral Sign Board; Fine For Spitting Paan On Roads!

People prefer having Paan after a heavy meal for easy digestion. However, those who eat Paan tend to split on the roads and public places. It won't look good to see paan stains all over the place. The government took a strict decision against this.

Spitting Paan has become a big issue in the West too. In the United States, people are reportedly spitting on roads after chewing it. To stop this, boards were set up announcing fines to those who spit on roads.

The Leicester Police said that spitting paan on the roads would attract a fine of £150 which is over Rs 13,000. Boards were set up in the city by the Police there warning people of the fine.

It is known that Indians are moving to other nations and they are taking their language and culture along with them. As an example of this, the fine amount was written in Gujarati language too along with English.

Usually, we see people spitting paan on roads and public places in India. Even while driving they spit paan and Gutka on the roads. In public places, we see such boards here. However, the habit has not stopped.

It looks like the city administration was fed up with this and imposed a fine. As the rules are implemented strictly there the habit might be stopped.
