Poll-bound Telangana is gearing up for much-awaited general elections. We are seeing the major parties and contestants putting in their best efforts. Out of all the constituencies, a few seats are grabbing everyone's attention as the giants are gearing up for intense fights.

Huzurabad is one such seat. Former BRS Minister Etela Rajender who is with the BJP now is contesting there. The BRS party which could not defeat Etela in the by-elections had fielded MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy as the candidate from the Huzurabad seat.

People are keenly observing what is happening with the constituency. Padi Kaushik Reddy who is the ruling party candidate is extensively touring the region as part of the election campaign. However one of his election campaigns created a sensation in the state.

Padi Kaushik Reddy took an emotional route and almost blackmailed people saying that he would commit suicide if people didn't vote for him. "If not, you can come and see my dead body on December 4. I beg you to give me one chance. I hope you will rescue me," he said in the campaign.

What BRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy did started a debate among the political circles on whether his claims would make the voters cast their votes for him. Very rarely we see candidates doing such things.

There is no doubt in saying that Padi Kaushik Reddy is facing a fierce competitor in the form of Etela who has a big following. In such cases, contestants go all guns blazing in the campaign activities. Instead, Padi went for the unexpected route.

Padi Kaushik Reddy was with the Congress earlier and joined the ruling BRS before the Huzurabad by-election. With allegations of taking the BRS side he was sacked from the Congress and he joined the BRS.
