A passport is a crucial document for those who want to travel abroad. The ID proof that is granted by the countries allows the countrymen to travel to other nations. A passport is required to get the Visa from the concerned nation. But there is much more that a passport can do.

People who hold certain passports can have access to travel with no Visa. Based on the number of countries the holders can go to without visas the ranks are given to the passports. The more powerful the passport is the number of countries the passport holders can go to.

As per the data compiled by the 2024 Henley Passport Index, as many as six nations are at the top position in powerful passports. Those who have these visas can travel to not less than 194 countries. Keeping this in simple words they can visit the lion's share of countries in the world without having any visa.

France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Singapore jointly share the top position. After a detailed study, the rankings were given to the passports. Japan and Singapore staying at the top is not a wonder and the nations have been retaining the spot for a few consecutive years. The rankings were given to the passports based on the number of countries the holders can visit.

Talking about India, our passport is in the 80th position as we can visit 62 destinations without having visas. Over the years, the passport rankings of India have been increasing, courtesy our growing bilateral ties with other nations. India has been increasing ties with many nations besides continuing the already existing ties.

Afghanistan is in the last position with 194th rank while Pakistan is at the 101 position. South Korea, Finland, and Sweden are in second place followed by Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands which are in the third position. The United Kingdom improved its ranking and reached the fourth position.
