Beware Sandalwood Smugglers: Pawan Kalyan in Action

The deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan is also the minister of Forestry. He has now issued a serious warning to red sandalwood smuggler involving the Tirupati forest and he has taken pretty serious advancements with regard to the same.

He warned that if those illegally transporting red sandalwood do not stop, within a year, through a special operation, every single person involved in the illegal red sandalwood trade will be eradicated.

Otherwise, we too will launch a Kagar-like special operation and ensure that there are no red sandalwood smugglers left within the coming year. This is our warning. Just as the Coalition government focuses on public welfare, it gives equal priority to protecting natural wealth, Pawan stated.

To discuss prevention of illegal red sandalwood transport, upcoming opportunities, and obstacles, Pawan Kalyan held a review meeting on Saturday at the Tirupati Collectorate.

We have specifically identified four kingpins who are at the top of illegal red sandalwood transport. We will catch them with a special strategy. In some areas of Kadapa, illegal red sandalwood transport is happening extensively. Some people are coming from other states specifically to fell red sandalwood.

With the deputy chief minister himself in action, it has to be seen what kind of reformative measures would be taken by the Andhra Pradesh government in the near future.
