Andhra Pradesh, deputy chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, visited the Rushikonda Palace in Vizag today and he had a series of highly interesting remarks to make about the lavish construction.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made key comments on the Rushikonda buildings in Visakhapatnam. He clarified that these constructions, which were built during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, are government properties and not private assets as previously alleged by coalition leaders.

Holding a review meeting with Jana Sena MLAs inside one of the same buildings, Pawan Kalyan said that there is no need to call them “Rushikonda Palaces” anymore. He stressed that the structures should be turned into major revenue sources rather than being criticized.

Since the government has already spent nearly ₹450 crores, efforts must be made to generate at least ₹700 crores in income from them. He also made it clear that these are assets of the Tourism Department and should never be sold.

Calling them a great opportunity for wealth creation, Pawan Kalyan suggested that the buildings should be opened before the winter season. He said they are ideal for destination weddings, international conferences, and exhibitions.

Drawing a comparison to Dubai’s MICE model, he said Vizag too can be developed as a MICE hub. Jana Sena will pass a resolution on this and present it to the Chief Minister. It appeared that the deputy CM had a strong vision for this live construction on the banks of the Rushikonda area in Vizag.
