It is known that Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi was disqualified earlier by a court in a defamation case. He is waging a legal battle to get a stay in the conviction. When a big debate has been going on about this, a ruling party MLA in Telangana was disqualified. For filing a false affidavit he was disqualified and a fine was imposed.

Kothagudem MLA from BRS Vanama Venkateshwara Rao was recently disqualified by the High Court. Jalagam Venkat Rao who came second in the election in 2018 has been fighting saying that he filed a false affidavit. The years-long fight gave a big relief to Jalagam Venkat Rao.

Vanama's disqualification gave birth to a discussion on whether there are any similar cases. The data is surprising as more than 30 such cases are pending with the High Court of Telangana. All the petitions were filed in the court seeking directives for the disqualification of the concerned legislators.

Compared to others, the ruling BRS is in a state of worry. Out of the cases, 25 cases were filed against the party MLAs. There are also a few Cabinet Ministers against whom the petitions are pending.

Telangana BC Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar faced a big blow with the High Court rejecting his petition. He moved the court seeking directives to reject the petition that was filed against his election. After quashing the petition, the High Court postponed the hearing for tomorrow.

Telangana Minister of Prohibition and Excise V. Srinivas Goud has a similar case. A case was filed against him for submitting a new petition in the place of a petition that was submitted to a petition with the EC earlier. It is said that the High Court issued directives to file a case against the Cabinet Minister and a few returning officers.

Gangula Kamalakar, Chennamaneni Ramesh, Marri Janardhan Reddy, Muthireddy, Gudem Mahipal Reddy, and a few others facing such cases. The general elections are fast approaching and the elections will be held this year. Ahead of this, one MLA was disqualified already and a few others are at the risk of getting disqualified.
