By: Tupaki Desk | 4 April 2025 8:32 AMUsually, it is the central government that must be nurturing and encouraging the entrepreneurial and start-up culture in the country. However, in the case of Indian minister for industries and supply Piyush Goyal, he had a set of harsh words against the Indian start-up community.
Goyal very strong statement against the start-up culture and the kind of aspirations that are being developed by the Indian youth.
The union minister commented that India is taking pride in saying that they have created instant food delivery apps and are fully satisfied with it. “ What is the point of these apps? All they do is make poor people deliver food to rich people through dedicated applications. How can this be any sort of technological or social betterment project?”
The minister further commented that the Chinese start-up scene is much ahead of India as he said those people are creating automated machinery and artificial intelligence along with robotic enhancement. He called the Indian youth to be more proactive on that front and deliver cutting edge technology.
While the younger generation in the country is complaining of lack of adequate resources and encouragement from the central government, it is now the turn of the union minister to criticise the aspirations of the entrepreneurs now.
On one level, what the union minister said is very right as the Indian youth must be focusing on changing technology rather than stagnated applications. But at the same time, it is also the responsibility of the union government to create adequate habitat for the development of such activities.
