New Vaccine for Women's Cancers Set to Launch in India, Announces Health Minister

Pratap Rao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, recently disclosed that a new vaccine targeting significant cancers in women will soon be a reality. During a press interaction in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, he revealed that within the next five to six months, this vaccine would be ready for distribution. He emphasized that the vaccine's research phase has concluded, with drug trials now in progress. Specifically designed for girls aged between 9 and 16, this vaccine aims to combat prevalent cancers such as breast, oral, and cervical cancer.

Addressing the rising cancer cases in India, Jadhav underscored the central government's initiatives to mitigate this health concern. He highlighted the implementation of testing for women aged 30 and above as part of these efforts. Moreover, he mentioned the establishment of daycare cancer centers aimed at facilitating early detection of the disease. "The number of cancer patients in the country is increasing. The central government is taking steps to address this issue. Hospitals will conduct tests for women over 30 years of age. We are establishing daycare cancer centers to detect the disease early. This upcoming vaccine will control breast, oral, and cervical cancers," he stated, thereby underlining the government's commitment to enhancing cancer care and prevention.
