Amidst Trump Campaign, Putin Lauds India, What’s Next?

It is already known that the United States president Donald Trump has again made an unconventional comment against India by saying that India has historically looted United States with tariffs.

This comment from Trump did not go well with the common section of the public as they reacted strongly to the United States president who is of the wrong implication against India. In this context, something more interesting is happening now as the bilateral relationship between India and Russia has started to grab the attention.

Russian president, Vladimir Putin has publicly commented that India is one of the most reliable partners for Russia, and there are no two ways about this topic. He even directly referred to the pressure that is being put on India by the United States.

Reacting on the topic here is what Putin had to say “The US is trying to pressure India, for example, when it comes to cooperation with Russia. But putting pressure on Narendra Modi's democracy is detrimental for international relations. It doesn't matter where this pressure comes from.”

The Russian president even spoke about the ongoing complex between India and Pakistan as he said “We are well aware of the intricacies of the issues concerning the border between India and Pakistan. I don't think Pakistan is a country that is fully under the control of China. Pakistan is a large country, and it has multi-faceted ties with different countries.”

The fact that the Russian president has stood firm with India regarding the ongoing conflict with Pakistan and United States is a strong indication.
