One Speech Makes Rahul Gandhi A Hero!

Narendra Modi was in power for two consecutive terms without even strong opposition. The situation was such that there was no leader from the opposition who could talk strongly in front of Narendra Modi for around ten years. But the situation had changed and Rahul Gandhi came out of the syllabus.

The absolute majority the BJP had in elections is the major reason for this. BJP went past 300 seats in both terms and won 303 seats in 2019. But the situation was different this time. BJP fell short of the magic figure and the alliance parties came to its rescue.

BJP is accused of using central agencies like ED and CBI to silence the opposition. The central agencies' fear also played a key role in this is what the observers say. Adding fuel to this the central agencies only conduct raids at the houses and offices of the opposition leaders.

The biggest shock the BJP faced is the rise of Rahul Gandhi. Over the years the party has been mocking Rahul Gandhi saying he is a Pappu. Rahul Gandhi took it as a challenge and bounced back. The Yatras he did also played a key role in his image transformation.

Rahul Gandhi who earlier faced a lot of criticism bounced back and became the Leader of Opposition. His speech in the House can be seen as a big example of this. He took everyone by surprise with his intense attack.

For almost an hour Rahul Gandhi blasted Narendra Modi on various issues including the NEET exam, the Agniveer scheme, and others. He also came down severely on the BJP for trying to talk about violence despite addressing themselves as Hindus. He said that Hinduism won't talk about violence.

The impact of his attack was such that even Narendra Modi could not withstand it. He tried to twist the issue saying that Rahul Gandhi is painting Hindus in a bad light which is not good. Rahul Gandhi did not stay silent and said that BJP or RSS or Modi doesn't represent the Hindu community.

Instead of replying to Rahul Gandhi and the points he raised, Narendra Modi called Rahul a Balak. However, observers say that his speech did not connect with the people. They say that it would have been good if Narendra Modi answered the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi.

With just one speech Rahul Gandhi created a sensation and showed his capabilities. He even said that the INDIA alliance will defeat the BJP in Gujarat. This speaks volumes about his confidence in himself.
