Court’s Sensational Comments On Extra Marital Affair!

An abduction case that went to the notice of the court saw a big twist as it turned out to be an unexpected angle. A woman had a relationship outside the marriage. Hearing the petition the Court made sensational comments. The issue has become a sensation now.

Going into details, a married man moved the High Court with a plea alleging that his wife was abducted by three accused. The case then saw a twist with the wife denying the allegations and saying that she was not abducted and she is in a relationship with one of the accused.

As the woman admitted the relationship with another man, the lawyer who represented the Husband in the court sought directives to punish the wife for this. However, the Court reportedly said not to this and said that this cannot be seen as an offense.

The Rajasthan High Court which dealt with the case said that adults having a consensual relationship is not an offense and what they did cannot be seen as an offense, the Court reportedly said.

It has to be mentioned here that the Supreme Court earlier gave a landmark verdict on adultery. Back in 2018, the Apex Court said that adultery is a criminal offense. A five-judge bench gave the order and dubbed section 497 of IPC as unconstitutional. Despite this, the bench observed that adultery can be a ground for the divorce.

A few months back, the parliamentary panel said that adultery should be seen as a criminal offense and proposed that the status quo on this should be changed.
