Election fever gripped the state which is unique geographically. Chief Minister and former Deputy Chief Ministers who appeared as rivals are now singing the same tunes. The debate of whether the former CM would get a ticket or not was ended. As the state has the trend of no party coming to power for a second consecutive term, we can expect crucial consequences. The big names getting tickets became vital.

Two Parties Announced Candidates List In One Day:

The Ashok Gehlot-led Congress is in power in Rajasthan which has 200 seats. Sachin Pilot served as the Deputy earlier. He tried to bring cracks in the party by joining the BJP. However, he took a backstep when Rahul Gandhi entered the picture. But he is locking horns with Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot is over 70 now. He is confident of another win. The case of Vasundhara Raje is different from the two. The firebrand leader who is regarded as queen served as the CM earlier. Reports say that PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah might keep her aside. She was not given a ticket till yesterday. Both Congress and BJP surprised everyone by releasing the candidates list. This is the first list for the ruling Congress. BJP released the second list with 83 candidates. With this, around 124 candidates were given the tickets.

Vasundhara Raje to contest from the Jhalrapatan seat which is her strong zone. She won elections from there four times. Interestingly, the BJP fielded Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, the scion of Mewar emperor Maharana Pratap from the Nathdwara seat. Congress released the first list with just 33 members. Gehlot will contest from Sardarpura while Sachin Pilot will contest from Tonk. Congress is yet to announce the candidates for the 167 seats. However, Congress is expected to announce a few more candidates after the Working Committee meeting. Elections will be held on November 25 in Rajasthan and the results will be announced on December 3rd along with Telangana.
