Telangana went for the much-awaited general elections recently. The parties in the state are gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections. Both the ruling and opposition parties took the elections quite prestigiously as they want to show their strength in the Lok Sabha polls.

Ahead of the elections, Rajya Sabha elections will be held. Three seats will be vacant in Telangana as the tenure of the seats will end in April. There is no doubt that the Congress party would win the three seats given its strength in the Assembly House.

Now the Congress party announced two candidates for the Rajya Sabha seats. Former MP Renuka Chowdhury and M Anil Kumar Yadav were announced. A Press release was issued by the party leadership.

This can be seen as a big win for Renuka Chowdhury, a veteran Congress leader. The senior Congress leader has been with the party in every thick and thin. In the previous elections as well she was not given the ticket.

It was a shock that Renuka was denied a ticket when the Congress had more chances to win in elections. Earlier it was reported that Renuka might be given a Rajya Sabha or Lok Sabha seat as she was not given a ticket in the general elections. Now it is said that she might be given a ticket from the Khammam seat.

There is no official confirmation of this. However, it is being reported that she might be placed as the Rajya Sabha candidate from the Khammam seat. Many say that the loyalist of the Gandhi family was given a big return gift.

She had a good stint in the Khammam region. Renuka served as the MP from Khammam for a few terms. Be it in TDP or Congress, she won as MP from the seat. This says that she has a good image in the region.
