He spoke at length about the recent Sandhya theatre incident involving Allu Arjun and faulted the hero, and also the entire film industry on this matter.
Revanth Reddy stated that Allu Arjun was instructed by the police not to go to the Sandhya theatre, but he still did anyway, and that too in an open top car.
“The police asked the Hero not to go to the theatre, but he did not pay heed to them. What happened in the end, the massive crowd that piled up to see him created a stampede situation, and a mother named Revathi lost her life while her son is battling death in the hospital. A life could have been saved, and a family would have been together if Allu Arjun did not go to the theatre that day” Revanth Reddy said.
Revanth Reddy then went on to reprimand the film industry for rallying behind Allu Arjun on this matter.
“A cinema hero was arrested for perpetrating the stampede which claimed the life of a mother. When he was released from the jail, the entire film industry made at a point to meet and greet him as if he lost a leg or an eye. But not a single celebrity, went to the hospital to console the family that last a mother and a son who is battling death” Revanth Reddy remarked.
The chief minister stated that Allu Arjun could have at least shown some courtesy and seated inside his car instead of going on a roadshow while so much damage was being done to the public. Even after the woman was killed, Allu Arjun still wanted public attention as he exited the theatre in a cinematic manner. Such anti-public actions will always be punished, commented the CM.
With the chief minister himself, bringing this topic in the state assembly during peak discussion, the gravity of the situation is there for everyone to be seen. It is very clear that CM Revanth Reddy is in no mood to let go of this incident as he warned serious repercussions in the days to follow as well.
