Every time Nimarjanam happens the focus goes on the auction of the laddu. Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations at Balapur has a special legacy and every year the laddu fetches record price. This year, the Balapur Laddu fetched Rs 27 lakhs which is the record price.
But the auction held at a Villa in Hyderabad's Bandlaguda grabbed everyone's attention as the laddu was auctioned for a record ₹1.26 crore. The money is said to be the highest in the South. The auction was held at Keerthi Richmond Villas in Bandlaguda.
The residents of the villa took part in the auction and said that the money would be spent on education, charity, and other work. Once again the laddu at the villa became the talk of the town.
The auction at the Keerthi Richmond Villas hit the headlines at once after the ladu fetched as much as ₹60.08 lakh. Now the amount went past the massive Rs 1 crore mark and kept everyone talking.
The Vinayaka Chavithi festival is a big platform of diversity as we hear incidents of people from different faiths praying to Lord Ganesh and seeking his blessings. Recently a few lady students from the Muslim faith jumped into Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations at a college.
As another example of this, in two incidents Muslims won the laddu in the auction. In Adilabad, a youth named Shaik Asif won the auction and he spent as much as one lakh and two thousand for this.
On the city outskirts, a Muslim professor won the auction and got the Laddu. The professor named Ali said that he has belief in the god and that he will distribute the prasadam among the devotees.
