What A Disaster! Is He The Costliest Mistake Of IPL?

It is a famous tradition in the IPL for young and talented players to fetch a huge amount of money in the mega auction that happened once in a while. We observed something like this in this year’s edition of the IPL in the form of the mega acquisition of Rishab Pant by Lucknow Super Giants.

Rishabh Pant turned out to be the costliest player in the history of IPL Lucknow spent a shocking rupees 27 crore on him. With such a huge pricetag on him, the expectation was that Pant would deliver beyond expectations.

However, the reality has turned out to be a completely different case as Pant has hardly scored 150 runs in the 13 games that he had played in the league stage till now. This has been one of the worst batting performances from Rishabh in his IPL career, and its shockingly came after his record breaking move to Lucknow franchise.

Pant is generally a very talented wicket-keeper and batsman, so the expectation was that he would be a substantial fit for the Lucknow franchise for the future. For the exact opposite turned out to be the case, as he has become more of a burden than a quality player for the team.

On top of the poor batting performance that he had put up this year, it must also be noted that his captain he has been very poor as Lucknow had been eliminated from the tournament fairly early.

After the Lucknow franchise placed so much trust and financial aspect into Rishabh Pant, the results have been very poor and it has to be seen if they would be enhanced at least next year.
