The YSRCP faced a big blow in the elections. The party entered the elections as a ruling party to win another election. In the last elections, YCP won 151 seats, and this time the party kept an even bigger number as the target. However, everything went for a toss with the defeat.

YCP won just 11 seats. Recently YS Jagan created a political sensation with his tweet on EVMs. He said that we should move to ballet papers like other countries are doing to safeguard democracy. He voiced the opinion of the INDIA bloc including the Congress party.

His response started a debate in the state. The Andhra Pradesh wing of BJP came down severely on Jagan on this and asked what he wanted to say with such comments. A former Minister took the issue further.

Actress-turned-politician Roja who has the image of a firebrand leader spoke in favour of Jagan on the EVMs issue. She said that other countries are using ballot papers for elections and it is not a bad thing to use them.

Just like Jagan, Roja also raised doubt about EVM tampering and said that people are showing how EVMs can be tampered with. Roja also gave the example of how Chandrababu Naidu raised doubts about EVMs when he lost the elections in 2019. She went on to say that Jagan batted for ballot papers as people who voted could not get happiness.

It is common for the party members to voice what the chiefs say. However, people are saying that earlier Jagan supported EVMs after the 2019 elections and said when the vote is cast it reflects on the screen. Highlighting this, they are asking how the opinion on EVMs changed in five years.

Roja, a two-time MLA from Nagari, wanted to win the third term. The Cabinet Minister said she would win the elections for sure. After the elections, she said leaders from her own party campaigned to not vote for her and they did a door-to-door campaign for TDP.
