Russian Cybersecurity Firm Faces Fire From US Administration!

The ties between Russia and the United States turned problematic with Russia’s decision to attack Ukraine. America was among the nations that strongly opposed the war and even moved the United Nations. However, Russia did not take a back step on this and went ahead.

In what could be a sensational development the United States Administration imposed a ban on Kaspersky Lab, a noted Cybersecurity company. From now on the company cannot sell its software and cybersecurity products in the country. The US cited national security concerns as the reason.

Talking about the same, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said there is Russia’s influence on the company. The software installed in the systems can read the information and there is a threat of gathering sensitive information which can be used in wrong ways, she said.

On the other hand, three firms linked to Kaspersky are added to the list of companies that are a threat to national security. This can be seen as a big shock to the company which operates globally.

While the US administration is saying that it took the decision as a safety measure to keep any possible threat away, there are a few doubts on whether the decision is any sort of sanction.

Earlier we have seen a few firms and agencies imposing sanctions on Russia due to its aggressive nature towards Ukraine. A few companies pulled themselves out of the country. Now what the US did raised a debate on possible sanctions from the administration.

Headquartered in Moscow, Kaspersky is a famous firm as far as cyber security is concerned. The company delivers its products in around 200 countries including India. When we buy any laptop or system Kaspersky virus is given.
