Massive Traffic @ Vijayawada-Hyd Highways!

Generally, during the Sankranti festival season, we see a lot of traffic moment along the highway, connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The same happens to be the case, even now as a massive traffic scenario is being observed between the two cities. Heavy traffic congestion was witnessed on the Vijayawada Hyderabad highway as a large number of people travelled from rural areas towards cities. The sudden increase in vehicle movement led to long queues at several points, causing delays and inconvenience to commuters. Chityala emerged as one of the worst affected stretches, with vehicles lining up for long distances and moving at a very slow pace.

Passengers reported that cars buses and goods vehicles were crawling for hours, especially during peak travel time. Many travelers said the journey took much longer than usual due to traffic bottlenecks and lack of smooth flow. Authorities were forced to intervene as the congestion continued to build up through the day.To ease the situation, traffic police diverted vehicles from Chityala towards Bhuvanagiri. This diversion was implemented to reduce pressure on the main highway and ensure at least partial relief for stranded commuters. While the diversion helped to an extent, slow movement was still reported on alternate routes due to the sudden inflow of vehicles.

Officials stated that the rush was mainly due to people returning to cities after visiting their native villages for personal and seasonal reasons. They advised travelers to plan their journeys carefully and follow traffic updates. Commuters have been urged to remain patient and cooperate with traffic personnel until the situation returns to normal.
