The Delhi Liquor Scam took a sensational turn with the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. The sitting CM was arrested and sent to custody. As the Court gave orders for his judicial custody, he was sent to the Tihar jail. As his arrest came ahead of the Lok Sabha elections it grabbed everyone’s attention.

The AAP has been alleging that the arrest is illegal and Arvind Kejriwal is not involved in the case. The party even alleged that he lost weight. A sensational claim came from the party that he lost around 5 kilos since his arrest. But the jail authorities are said to have rubbished the allegations.

On the other hand, the guards of the prison are said to have become more cautious. There are a few speculations that the inmates might attack the CM to get fame. With this, the guards became cautious and alert. Security was also increased at his cell as a safety measure.

The Tihar jail sees gang wars regularly as per the reports and back in 2021, one Srikan Ramaswami was reportedly killed by the inmates. With this, the security was increased as a safety measure, say the reports.

On the other hand, the Delhi Chief Minister challenged his arrest in the court. He filed a petition seeking directives to get relief in the case. The CM reportedly said that the main purpose of his arrest was to humiliate and incapacitate him. Kejriwal’s counsel said that the time of the arrest is raising many questions and he was arrested at a time when the election code is effective.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi who represented the CM alleged that the ED had no evidence against him and said that his statement was not taken before his arrest and this should have been done
