The general elections in a few states which were dubbed as the semi-finals for the Lok Sabha elections were concluded. Having done and dusted with these, the Lok Sabha elections are getting all the attention. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be different from the previous ones.

The fight between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by BJP and the opposition UPA would be as intense as one could ever imagine. While BJP wants to record a third consecutive win, Congress wants to spoil BJP's dream.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor came up with an interesting observation. Talking about the election prediction, the MP said that the Congress-led alliance would come to power at the centre.

Having expressed big confidence in Congress coming to power, Shashi Tharoor also said that BJP would emerge as the single-largest party. They cannot come to power while the Congress will form the government, given the favourable aspects, he said.

The MP feels that the BJP is facing issues as its allies will also not support it which would result in the BJP falling short of the magic figure. The allies might not walk with the BJP which would be a big issue for it. Let us wait for the elections, he observed.

Looking at his confidence, a few fea factors are in favour of Congress. Congress won two states which is an indication that Congress is not done yet. It still has the power to face the elections. Another big aspect is that the opposition parties came under one roof named the INDIA bloc. The opposition leaders include the Chief Ministers as well.

Shashi Tharoor might be counting on these factors that might work well for the opposition Congress and the allies. He is sounding confident that Congress would come to power.

But the BJP is also looking strong. It won two consecutive terms in the Lok Sabha. It is in power in many states. Moreover, political observers say that the Hindutva card would work for it. The much-awaited Ram Mandir will be inaugurated soon and this might help the party almost sweep the elections in the northern states.
