After a dream run in the Indian Premier League, stylish player Shubman Gill was given a chance in the Indian team and grabbed it with both hands. Across formats, he scored good runs and cemented his place as a dependable opener. The Right-handed batsman has a double ton in ODIs and he joined the elite list with this.

In the Asia Cup as well, he played good innings and helped India win the cup. As the World Cup is hosted in India many waited eagerly to see what he can do with the bat. He is aware of Indian patches and a few veteran players said he is an interesting player to watch out for.

But India faced a jolt as he missed out on the first match against Australia. Due to health issues, he was not picked in the playing XI. It is said that the young batsman would miss a few more matches and he had not recovered yet.

A few national media outlets carried out a piece of sensational news claiming that Shubman Gill was sent to a hospital in Chennai as he was suffering from Dengue. It is said that his platelet count dropped which forced the medical team to send him to hospital.

Shubman Gill is likely to undergo treatment for a few days followed by some good rest. While it is expected that he will miss the match against Afghanistan. He might not be in action against Pakistan as well which is slated to play on the 14th of this month.

In the Asia Cup, he effectively played the Pakistani bowlers and made a good partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma. As he is likely to miss a few matches, fans are worried.

It is reported that the player developed a fever initially which became a Dengue later. Things changed rapidly and his platelet count fell. He is undergoing treatment and further details are awaited.
