Singapore Gets Its Third Indian-origin President!
Indian-origin Kamala Harris is US Vice-President and a few members of Joe Biden’s administration are of Indian origin.

Indian-origin Kamala Harris is US Vice-President and a few members of Joe Biden’s administration are of Indian origin. Rishi Sunak, whose family’s roots are in India is serving as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, one of the biggest economies in the world.
Joining the list, an Indian-origin person was elected as the President of Singapore. Noted economist Tharman Shanmugaratnam who is Indian-origin is elected and took oath as the President. In a traditional ceremony, he took oath.
The votes he got in the elections are an example of the image he created. It was not an easy win for Tharman Shanmugaratnam as his opponent came so close in the votes. With this, he became the third-Indian origin to serve as the Singapore President. His tenure in the post is six years.
Tharman Shanmugaratnam was part of the government and held big positions in the past. Earlier he served as the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, coordinating minister for social policies, and senior minister. Having seen his performance in different roles and the impact he created in the jobs that were designated for him, he was elected.
Earlier Sellapan Ramanathan and Chengara Veetil Devan Nair served as the Presidents of Singapore. Joining the list, Indian-origin economist Tharman Shanmugaratnam became the President. He is carrying a lot of expectations and we have to wait and see what he will do
